Notch is not a traditional executive recruiter. The majority of our work with executives is explicitly for the purpose of driving buyout deals for our private equity clients. At the outset of our relationship we work closely with you, not only to gain a comprehensive understanding of your background and career objectives, but also to ensure that private equity relationships developed through us are meaningful and productive. Over time, our executives come to view us as trusted confidants and advisors.
We welcome opportunities to meet all accomplished industry-leading CEOs, presidents, other managers with full P&L backgrounds, and CFOs. It is our belief that if you have achieved exceptional results in revenue and profitability growth over the course of your career in a “buyout friendly” industry, you can add value to our clients’ efforts, whether as a proactive Deal Executive, Operating Partner, due diligence advisor, deal sourcer or portfolio company executive.
Some of Notch’s most successful Deal Executives did not define themselves as such when they first began working with us. While many executives possess the qualities we typically seek, engaging in a buyout situation isn’t something many seriously considered before working with Notch. By working with us, accomplished executives can develop a better understanding of the advantages of working in private equity. Equipped with that understanding, many executives choose to prioritize a “deal approach” to their career transition. For those who are relatively inexperienced, our partners take considerable time to explain how private equity works and how to become a successful Deal Executive. In the past, our work with executives has included the following:
- Helping to define and develop deal ideas and/or execute deal theses
- Identifying and making introductions to appropriate private equity contacts and facilitating meeting logistics with private equity firms
- Maintaining a robust feedback loop between executives and private equity firms
- Facilitating negotiations when formalizing a relationship
To maximize the value of our services, we encourage Notch executives to involve us in as many aspects of their search process as appropriate. At times, working with private equity firms can be a disjointed and frustrating experience, given the frequent lack of established protocols and processes. Our experience and focus help to maximize your chances to be heard and to develop a successful partnership with a private equity firm. Introductions represent only the beginning of your relationship with private equity firms and with us. We remain involved throughout the process and interact regularly with you and our private equity clients to ensure progress and, if appropriate, closure on both ends.
